This is only option. ;) I read I / II Macc; Antiquities of the Jews and The Wars of the Jews and I don't see good evidence. Maccabean's Sarissophoroi is just old theory professor Bar-Kochva.

In the future, wants to build a FoG Maccabean Army (for sale).

yes indeed, Saitic Egyptians would be a good Xyston miniatures DBA army box set all the figures are available so there shouldn't be any problems putting this army together..

Antigonos

The store still does not have elephants suitable for Antigonides and Epirus.
Indian elephants with a tower.

I would use ANC20132 - Hellenistic Elephant, with 2 crew and make/add tower if needed for Antigonides and Epirus.

I would also say Etruscan, more of a range with the Italiote range, including cab and maybe the Illyrians.

Hi guys...

I was thinking : with the marian range to come, i would like to play Spartacus, slaves and gladiators.

Could you make some gladiators weapons to glue on some italian levees ? or maybe armoured arms to put on other figures ?

And of course, the personality pack : Spartacus and slaves generals ?

Thanks.

Hello

I like early italic wars (roman versus other italiote), the pieces are sculpted very well,  but for now I find in the  catalogue only basic infantry. :-[
So I am waiting for commands, Oplite 1-2-3 class, and cavalry (especially). ;D

So I can play with Etruscan , Early Roman (age of the kings) , Bruttian and Apulian, Oscan
Samnite, Campanian (see army list in field of glory "the last scroll") and Pirric.

Why not ?

I double Fabius suggestion, a more complete italiote range would be great.

Dear Seba.

1. I have ANC20301 - Chalkaspides. Great figures!
I mentioned once on separate shields. It may be too complicated so I have another idea.

Chalkaspides only in linothorax and kotthybos

I could use them to the rear ranks in FoG BG (Pikeman). As in fact.

In conjunction with the previous set could submit virtually every unit of pikemen from IV-I BC.  ;D

Please, pretty please.

2. Rhoxolani Armoured Lancers on unarmoured horses. II-I BC.

For Sarmatian, Bosphoran and Pontic army.

No Oscans? :)

But I add them to the list.

More Italiotes is good idea, I will discuses this with Rob and Jon.

hello,

here are my suggestions for new packs.

1. filling out old ranges

You have some beautiful ranges of miniatures, but I find that some of them have gaps that need to be filled. They lack vital miniatures to complete armies, usually command packs.

Gauls
a) gallic cavalry commanders, musicians and std bearers and maybe a personality pack for variety - there are no mounted command figures, which means its impossible (without converting) to make a decent gallic army (apart from dba one).
b) british horsemen, maybe british celts personality pack (Boudica etc?) - with these packs it will be possible to build a british celts army. perfect opponents for these marian roman you are going to release in near future.

Scythians/Saka
a) saka cathaphracts with command. perfect for asiatic 'scythian' adventures. like fighting parthians, bactrian greek etc.

Carthaginians
a) musician and std bearer for poeni cavalry. not only vital for creating a properly looking units, but also for command stands etc. just a single pack would do the trick.

Seleucid
a) this range lacks any mounted command miniatures, and to be complete it would need a lot of them. companions, xystophoroi, cataphracts - they all need a commander, std bearer and musician.
b) indian elephant
c) scythed chariot

Kappadokian
a) command miniatures for cavalry units. please. no command units nor decent looking cavalry units without them.

2. new ranges

a) Armenian

just some packs needed for a properly looking armenian army - perfect opponent for parthians and of course marian romans.

b) Bactrian greek

'eastern' style greek cavalry (with bows I assume), iranian lancers, maybe some other bactrian/iranian cavalry. plus maybe a personality pack. would be a great range. perfect opponent for mauryan indian, parthians, saka and sassanid. just some packs needed. and of course hellenistic indian elephant. would be good for sassanids too.

c) Arabs

c) Spartacus slave revolt

for fighting upcoming marian romans.

thanks,
bart

I concur with Bart's suggestions/wish list

i.e. I like to see more Scythians/Saka and Bactrian Greek packs..

Happy new Year 2015 !! (with many new models)

I am happy for Marian Roman  :D , so we can play with Mario against Silla (Roman civil war) , against Spartacus and finally
Cesare against Celts , Britons and another Roman army as Pompeo Magno (last repubblican civil war).

For the Italiotes,  I play with FOG , see "Lost scroll". You will find that in any list as Latin , Oscan , hill tribes , Samnite and other there are at last one or two cavalry unit! So we need especially cavalry.  Ok for Tarentine cavalry.

Hi

How About Some German cav for The  Marians, with Julius Civilis !!
Title: Re: User's wishlist
Post by: Kees on March 17, 2015, 09:08:03 AM
The idea of a German army to match the Marian romans... I agree. A first start could be the allied cavalry and then expand it with some proper and good sized german infantry. There are some figures around but they are mostly on the small side...
A command pack with Julius Civilis would be great indeed Ro!
Also the idea of making a proper slave revolt army... Nice... I already bought some psiloi and penal legion figures but there is a ot to go still... And indeed, the different command packs for the different slave revolts, a nice challenge...

grtz,

Kees

I agree with beza.

complete the existing ranges, before you start new ones.
Especially the Gauls and Seleucids need the mentioned additions
to create complete armies.

Ptolemaic Guard Cavalry with Sidon Helmet (II BC)

Yes, adding some Ptolemaic 'Companion' cavalry would be a good opportunity to fill in some other gaps in the Macedonian successor cavalry. The only other hard evidence I'm aware of for Macedonian cavalry wearing bronze cuirasses is the tomb of Alketas (320 BC) in Pisidia... and he was a general!

So, please could we have a pack of Macedonian 'Companion' cavalry in leather / linen corselets _only_ and not mixed in with figures wearing bronze cuirasses?

Since there are already Macedonian archers available wearing 'kausia' hats (and now pall-bearers for Antigonos the One-Eyed!) it would also be really nice to have a pack of Macedonian 'Companion' cavalry wearing kausia hats, as on the Agios Athanasios tomb mural discovered in 1994, which is also surely _definitive_ evidence of 'Companion' cavalry wearing a uniform style of leather / linen corselet, as previously argued by Nick Sekunda.

Contrary to popular belief, the Pelinna tomb stone from Thessaly also shows a Macedonian cavalry man in a linen corselet (not a bronze cuirass as Duncan Head claimed).

Smoothing down the bronze cuirasses on my old Essex 'Companion' cavalry to make them look like linen cuirasses was tricky work and I wouldn't want to risk taking a scalpel to Xyston miniatures like that!

'Companion' cavalry in bronze cuirasses could then be put into a separate pack for those who want them.

While, I am at it, how about some Thessalian cavalry in linen corselets, but still wearing Thessalian cloaks (which is what makes them identifiably Thessalian! The Pelinna cavalryman must have been a Macedonian!)... as shown clearly on the 'Alexander' sarcophagus?

Some thureophoroi wearing 'kausia' hats, as on the Kazanluk tomb would also be a pleasing addition that would only require a head swap on existing figures.

I tried to attach more images of the archaeological evidence mentioned, but the files were too large!

In the Numidian range: are there gonna be any imitation legionaries or Gaetuli?
I would love to see those!

To complete the Achaemenid range with the Sparabaras was a great idea ! And a beautiful work regarding what did John on Facebook.

Have you ever thougt of Biblical age ? How this forum is right : http://www.lead-adventure.de/index.php?topic=85157.0, there is no quality range for this period. And the Hittite-Egyptian New Kingdom opposition is a very classic for the gamers. Beautiful chariots would reload this !

Would you consider medieval range too ?
