Title: Including individuals in units?
Post by: stone cold lead on September 29, 2016, 10:25:47 AM
In the force books Individuals (named characters mostly) are listed as being able to be added to a unit using the same buying criteria as squad leaders. Does this mean they replace the standard squad leader or that they are included in addition to a squad leader?

IIRC, we played them as an addition to the force, but I have no idea what teh official rule is! ;)

Hi, my interpretation is that the criteria for buying a squad leader is 0-1, meaning you can only add 1 character max. The character only replaces the squad leader when it specifically says so, like the praetor option in the junkers book.

However in the Junkers book and the 4-in-1, there are provisions for adding centurions & standard bearers to the same squad.  I think that as long as the minimum/maximum unit requirements are met, it's ok to add say a sergeant & major kali to a vasa colonial marine squad.
